When working with Emerald Cove at Grand Ridge; we will take care of all the details so you don't have to. We source party rentals including but not limited to additional tenting, tables, chairs, linens, china, glassware, props, etc. This means during your event you can enjoy your day with the company of your guests and we will do all the behind the scenes work including set up, break down and clean-up of all the items we bring in.

Owner/Chef Freddie Detore II
West Seattle native Chef Freddie Detore has always had a love for food thanks to the tutelage passed on from his mother and his grandmothers alike. Being an outdoorsman, avid fisherman and gardener round out the rest of his hobbies. These passions eloquently integrate into his cooking style and theory of sustainability by the use of the freshest possible ingredients both land and sea have to offer. Chef Detore has close to 25 years of restaurant experience. He started in the industry at the bottom bussing tables and washing dishes followed by years of experience in every position in the kitchen. Chef Detore's skills were honed with tenures at Palisade and as a personal chef at the world renowned Playboy Mansion in Beverly Hills.
Throughout his experiences home and abroad he gained the skills essential to be a leader in this competitive industry. The vision of providing his guests with impeccable service complimented by simple yet innovative cuisine with old country roots has to come to fruition with what is now Emerald Cove Catering - Exclusive culinary experts at The Grand Ridge Manor Wedding Venue and Event Center.
Executive Chef Mark Guth
Seattle native Mark Guth has been practicing his craft since his freshman year of highschool, when he discovered he would forego the office life in favor of a career in the kitchen. After graduating from the Culinary Arts program at South Seattle Community College he went on to be the Sous-Chef of an Eastside Caterer at age 19. Thanks to his unyielding dedication and a series of talented mentors, Mark now works as Head Chef of Emerald Cove Catering, blending elegance and simplicity with the local ingredients and unique flavors the Pacific Northwest has to offer.
Mark is also an award-winning homebrewer, his life-long passion is to master everything that touches the tastebuds; every preparation, every dish that exists (or doesn't), any style. His Ambition to be the most versatile chef out there. But that's just the thing, says Mark, "no matter how much you know, there's always more to learn. You can never know everything." So the quest continues...
Co-Executive Chef Brandon LaVielle
Brandon received his training in classical French cuisine at South Seattle Community College's Culinary Arts Program. After honing his skills at the award winning Salty's on Alki, Brandon went on to lead kitchens in multiple fine dining restaurants in the Seattle and Bellevue area.
In 2011, Brandon was recruited to join the culinary team at Emerald Cove Catering. Since he began at ECC, Brandon has been an instrumental part of the growth of the company by helping secure numerous contracts and major events.
Brandon's dedication to education and culinary arts keeps him involved in a variety of different organizations. He is a proud member of the American Culinary Federation (ACF), representing the Washington State Chef's Association (WSCA). Through the ACF and WSCA, Chef Brandon is an Approved Mentor for the ACF Apprenticeship program. Brandon currently has three apprentices training under him at Emerald Cove.
Brandon is also plays an intricate role in the ACF 'Chef and Child Program'. A program which functions to educate children and families in understanding proper nutrition through community-based initiatives led by ACF chef members, and to be the voice of the culinary industry in its fight against childhood hunger, malnutrition and obesity. Working side by side with this program and the School Nutrition Association, Brandon is also very involved in the 'Chefs Move to Schools' program, which is an integral part of First Lady Michelle Obama's Let's Move! Initiative and its goal of solving the childhood obesity epidemic within a generation.
